DogSafe Privacy Policy

DogSafe ("we", "our", or "the app") helps dog owners check whether conditions are safe for walking their dogs. This policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.

Information we collect

• Location — When you allow GPS access or search for a city, we use coordinates to fetch weather from Open-Meteo. Location is sent only to that weather service, not to our servers.
• Dog profiles — Names, breeds, size, and age you enter are stored locally on your device.
• App settings — Preferences such as temperature units and notification toggles are stored locally on your device.

Information we do not collect

• We do not operate a backend server for DogSafe.
• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not require an account to use the app.

Third-party services

Weather data is provided by Open-Meteo. When you use DogSafe, your approximate location (latitude and longitude) is sent to Open-Meteo to retrieve forecast data. Refer to Open-Meteo's policies for their data handling.

Notifications

If you enable notifications on iOS or Android, alerts are scheduled locally on your device based on weather forecasts and your saved dog profiles. Notification content is not sent to our servers.

Children

DogSafe is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

DogSafe provides safety estimates based on weather and general guidance. It is not veterinary advice. Always consult a veterinarian for health concerns.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change when we do.
